The
Department also performs in house birthday parties, station tours and on
site fire prevention demonstrations.
The
Fire Prevention conducts hundreds of inspections yearly as well as ensuring
the correction of numerous fire and safety hazards. The Fire Prevention
Bureau has many other functions. Activities include commercial and health
facility inspections, new and existing residential occupancies, plans review
and site reviews, water supply analysis, public education, a juvenile fire
setter program, wood stove and chimney inspections.
The

The Fire Prevention Bureau also holds an annual Open House each year
during Fire Prevention Week in October. This one day event is geared to
the public and there are programs for all ages.
